About pod training group

POD Training Group was built around one principle: Perform On Demand.

In real-world situations, performance matters more than theory. Whether you are military, law enforcement, executive protection, competitive, or a responsibly armed civilian, the ability to deliver accurate fire under speed, stress, and pressure is what counts.

Our training philosophy is centered around high-performance shooting — developing shooters at our indoor training facility to process information quickly, move efficiently, and deliver accountable hits in dynamic environments. We believe shooting is an athletic skill that must be trained with purpose, intensity, and realism.

This is not static lane shooting.

At POD Training Group, we focus on:

* Speed with accountability

* Real-world application

* Practical movement and positional shooting

* Performance under stress

* Decision-making and target discrimination

* Building natural, repeatable mechanics under pressure

Our programs are designed to bridge the gap between flat-range fundamentals and real-world performance. Through structured drills, force-on-force concepts, simulator training, movement-based shooting, and performance metrics, we teach shooters how to react efficiently when milliseconds matter.

We train individuals from all backgrounds — from first-time civilians seeking confidence and competence, to experienced military and law enforcement personnel refining high-level performance skills.

Our mission is simple:

Build shooters to perform on demand.

Dynamic Rifle Training

Jake Bittan

Founder/Instructor

Jake has a decade of experience in the military serving in a direct-action role, conducting combat operations and targeted raids as the point man for his team and is still currently operational. Most of his time was spent operating in urban environments where speed, decision-making, and accountability under pressure were critical.

After experiencing a terrorist attack firsthand, engaging the terrorist under automatic rifle fire, and stopping the attack while surrounded by civilians, he developed a strong belief that real-world performance is not about slow precision — it is about the ability to blend speed and accuracy.

That experience led him into practical and performance-based shooting, where he focused heavily on building efficient shooting mechanics through dry fire and the ability to perform under stress. His training philosophy is centered around practical application rather than static range shooting, with an emphasis on developing shooters who can react quickly, think clearly, and perform on demand.

Beyond technical skill, Jake wants an environment where students are pushed to improve while still feeling approachable and supported throughout the process. His goal is not just to teach people how to shoot faster, but to help them build real confidence, problem-solving ability, and composure under pressure — whether they are military, law enforcement, or everyday civilians.

Matan Sage

Instructor

Matan served as a Recon Sniper and assaulter in the IDF, operating in direct-action and counterterrorism environments throughout his service. During the events of October 7th, he was stationed on one of the Gaza border forward operating bases that was overrun during the initial attacks.

Alongside a small group of roughly nine teammates, Matan helped defend a base approximately the size of a football field against more than 60 Hamas terrorists during hours of intense fighting. During the battle, he was shot in his front plate and survived multiple RPG blasts while continuing to fight alongside his team. Twenty-one of his fellow soldiers were lost that morning. The experience profoundly shaped his understanding of combat, leadership under pressure, teamwork, and the realities of fighting in densely populated and rapidly evolving environments.

Following the initial attacks, Matan spent approximately a year and a half operating in Gaza, participating in numerous direct-action engagements and combat operations. Throughout the war, he became widely respected among other units for his actions during several well-known engagements and for his ability to perform effectively under extreme pressure.

After completing his service and relocating back to the United States, Matan joined the team, bringing with him recent real-world combat experience, a strong operational mindset, and extensive knowledge of modern urban warfare and practical firearms application.

Today, Matan plays a major role in strengthening the company’s training environment by helping bridge real-world combat experience with performance-based shooting principles. His background contributes valuable insight into movement, threat processing, decision-making under stress, and the practical application of firearms in dynamic environments. His experience and mindset help ensure the training remains grounded in reality while continuing to push students toward higher levels of performance and accountability.
